Trying to balance school, work, friends, sporting events and family can be a challenging task. By creating good time management techniques, you have the opportunity to get the most out each part of your life. In addition, having the ability to manage your time is an essential skill to be successful in college and the work place! Check out these articles about time management.

  • When you are feeling overwhelmed with everything you need to accomplish in the day, make a to-do list. Put the most important tasks on top, so you complete them. Also, if you find yourself struggling through your list, create little rewards to remain motivated. Use our calendar to stay on top of your busy days!
  • Always have your work with you. So if you have a couple extra minutes, you can work on something. If you a book to read, maybe you can read a couple pages on the train or bus or while waiting for an appointment.
  • It is okay to say no. You do not have to do everything and you should not spread yourself too thin. If your friends are getting together the night before an important test, you can say no and stay home to study. Try to find a time that works better with everyone’s schedule.
  • Figure out when you work best. Maybe you are very productive in the mornings or at night. Plan your schedule accordingly to your personal productivity time.
  • Establish a specific study time. During this time, put away your cellphone and stay off of social media platforms so you can focus.
  • Create a schedule. Along with you to-do list, have a schedule so you can budget your time and accomplish everything on your list. Don’t forget to schedule time to relax and enjoy yourself.
  • Remain focused. If you are wasting time, go back to your schedule so you can accomplish everything. When you find yourself procrastinating sit down and figure why you cannot accomplish your task. Speak to your teacher if you need so you can finish the project.
  • Get enough sleep. Your brain will perform at its’ best when you get enough sleep.
